Absolutely recommend.  Jonathan came out and looked at our master shower. He is so knowledgeable about tile and how to refresh our master bath.  His two employees Nick and Randy came out yesterday. They were literally here for 12 hours of working diligently on our home. Our master shower, due to all of the hard water from The Woodlands, was just a wreck with calcium stains, missing grout, etc.  We did not want to do a total remodel of our bathroom because we still like the style. They polished our granite counters and literally they look better than they did when we bought the house. We also had some discoloration on some of our travertine from things like leaving a wet mop on the floor.  These employees were so polite and so quiet I kept forgetting they were here. They worked quietly and cleaned up after they were gone. They were here for nearly 12 hours doing this job diligently. The cost was around $2048. I felt like this was an absolute bargain, considering how long they were here and how hard they worked. I believe that a lot of bathrooms do not need a complete remodel. They just need this tile cleaning refresh and they look like new. Thank you, Jonathan, Nick, and Randy so much for your excellent service. I greatly appreciate the hard work and will recommend you to anyone. I am a real estate broker so I have a lot of opportunity to give out your name. We can assist you in not only cleaning your granite surfaces, but in keeping your granite properly polished, maintained, and free of scratches to help make regular cleaning and care of your stone easier.

Granite Reconditioning

The most common reason for this service is because your granite countertops have hard water build up around the sink, which dulls the shine of the granite. We begin this process by cleaning and preparing the surface followed by a deep cleansing and polishing. We can then seal the granite to ensure it stays beautiful for a long time. This sealer soaks into the pores of the stone and acts as a repellent, providing protection against future staining. Impregnating / Sealing Granite

Once your granite is cleaned and restored, we may recommend you have us seal it to enhance its stain resistance. We say, “may” because not all stone needs to be sealed. Highly polished stone may not even take an impregnating sealer. But, if sealing is recommended, know that sealing represents an inexpensive, preventative measure against stain damage, because it buys you time to wipe up spills before they become stains.

How Granite Countertop Repair Works

On-site evaluation- A technician examines the damage, confirms the recommended repair and looks for contributing problems that may need to be addressed.
Surface preparation- We clean and prepare the damaged area so the repair materials can bond properly.
Repair and color matching-Depending on the damage, we may stabilize a crack, reconnect broken pieces or fill chips and missing areas using professional stone-repair materials. Tinted adhesives may be used to help the repair blend with the surrounding granite.
Leveling and finishing- After the repair material has cured, we grind, hone or polish the area as needed to create a level surface and match the surrounding finish as closely as possible.
Final inspection and care guidance- We inspect the completed repair and explain any applicable aftercare or maintenance recommendations.

Granite FAQs

Can you repair a crack in front of a sink?

Yes. Cracks in front of sinks can often be stabilized and repaired without replacing the entire countertop. We clean and prepare the damaged area, bond the crack with professional-grade repair materials, and carefully finish the surface to blend the repair with the surrounding granite. We will first assess the crack and its underlying cause to recommend the most appropriate repair.

What causes granite to crack near a sink?

The narrow strips of granite around a sink are more vulnerable because they have less supporting material. Cracks can result from impact, inadequate countertop support, movement in the cabinets, stress from the sink cutout, or moisture reaching a metal support rod beneath the granite. If the rod rusts and expands—a process known as rod jacking—it can place pressure on the stone and cause it to crack. Read more on our cracked granite countertop case study.

Can chipped granite countertop edges be repaired?

Yes. Many chips along countertop edges, corners and sink openings can be filled with a durable, color-matched repair material. The repaired area is then shaped, leveled and polished to blend as closely as possible with the surrounding stone. The final appearance depends on the chip’s size, location and the granite’s color and pattern.

Can separated granite seams be repaired and leveled?

In many cases, yes. We can evaluate separated, uneven or poorly filled seams and determine whether they can be cleaned, realigned, refilled and polished. The appropriate repair depends on the condition of the granite, cabinets and underlying support. Correcting the cause of the movement is important to help prevent the seam from separating again.

Will the granite repair be visible?

Our goal is to make the repair blend naturally with the surrounding granite, but a completely invisible result cannot be guaranteed. Granite’s unique colors, mineral patterns and reflective finish can make a repaired area visible from certain angles or under certain lighting. We use color-matched materials and careful finishing techniques to minimize the contrast while prioritizing a strong, lasting repair.

Does sealing granite make it shiny?

No. Sealing granite will not change the look of the stone. Sealing granite will make water and oils bead up on the surface making your granite easier to clean and it will help resist staining. To make your granite shiny more than likely you need to have your granite professionally cleaned and polished, we can provide this service for you.

What happens if granite is not sealed?

Once granite is sealed water will bead up on the surface. If it is not sealed water will penetrate the granite and leave behind unsightly white mineral deposits. If these mineral deposits work their way deep within the stone, a more expensive honing (sanding) process will be needed to remove them.

Can you repair a broken granite countertop?

We can fill holes in granite, and fix granite cracks and chips, blending the repair site with the surrounding area, and conclude by honing and polishing your granite floor, countertop or other granite surface to create a uniform finish. We can also repair granite pieces that have broken off.

What is the hard white buildup on my granite around my faucets?

Hard water builds up around sinks and sink faucets. This can become a hard white build up that actually sits on top of the stone or it can turn the stone hazy and dull looking when it is deep in the pores of the stone. Hard water deposits can cause a haze or cloudiness on the surface of natural stone. Sometimes, if the buildup is not too severe, it can be safely removed using pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaner. If not, we can restore the finish.
