Before founding Beyond Clean Tile in 2015, Jim Walthall spent years directing maintenance departments for Fortune 500 companies. During that time, he saw a problem: homeowners and businesses were frustrated by floors that never stayed clean and stone surfaces that lost their shine. There wasn’t a reliable solution for restoring and maintaining natural stone, tile, grout, and wood floors with predictable, lasting results.
From Corporate Maintenance to Trusted Floor Care Experts
Determined to change that, Jim dove headfirst into learning everything about floor and surface care. He trained coast to coast, earning certification from the Hard Surface Maintenance Professional Association (HSMPA), completing stone restoration courses in California, and joining the Natural Stone Institute to stay on top of industry best practices.

Since 2015, Beyond Clean Tile has earned its reputation as Houston’s go-to expert for restoring and protecting hard surfaces. What started as Jim’s passion project has grown into a trusted family business now led by his son, Jonathan Walthall, who continues the same commitment to craftsmanship, education, and customer care that built the company’s foundation.
